Children
who attend the SoulKids® Self-Confidence programs are introduced to a lot of
stories that contain valuable life lessons.
One
of the stories that children learn in a SoulKids® Self-Confidence program is
about The Grand Canyon. This story focuses on a boy and his father, who
take a trip to The Grand Canyon.
The
boy discovers that whatever you shout into The Grand Canyon, in a certain spot,
echoes back to you ten fold. When the boy stands on the spot first he shouts “I
Hate You” and when that echo’s back at him he feels upset.
However
his father encourages him to try again but to shout something different this
time. The boy shouts “I Love You’ and it feels wonderful to hear those words
being echoed back at him.
One of the lessons from the story, which the children pick up on, is what you give
to the world the world will give back to you. Another is, choosing to take positive action and
use positive words with others will change your life.
Children
tend to act as “mirrors” to what they see and hear around them. If they
are surrounded by positive words, actions and influences, this should result in
more positive children.
