Tuesday morning after the SoulKids weekend when driving to school, Martin asked his mum: “when can I go back to SoulKids?” and Marcia asked him why? So he said: “well, I have a story to share.

Yesterday at school, two of my friends wanted to do a race: who would reach the classroom first would be the winner. They started running but I just kept walking. But they were attacking each other, trying to prevent the other from succeeding.

They were keeping each other down, just like the Crabs story of SoulKids.

And although I just walked, I was still the first to arrive in the classroom!”

Marcia and her husband David were really impressed. “Amazing” she said to me, “you guys ( on SoulKids ) are making an impact!”

How wonderful- stories change the outlook on life for SoulKids !!

The Crab story teaches children not to spend time and effort in pulling others down / being jealous, but to spend time on looking at your strengths and encouraging others !!

Well done Martin - you will go far and cross many finish lines in FIRST place !!

Nancy got her feet wet !!!

Congratulations to NANCY!

She graduated as a SoulKids Mentor only a month ago, and already she is out there with the children and changing lives.....

Nancy truly WALKS the talk ...she is a shining example to us all and we are SO SO PROUD to have her on the team !!

Daan the Courageous !!

Daan attended SoulKids at the weekend and then on the Monday this happened.....from his father!

Daan went to school on Monday morning and he insisted on bringing his SoulKids certificate. On Monday mornings the school starts with the so-called assembly where all the children of the school (aged 6 – 12) gather and children who have something to share can take the stage.

Daan (7 years) walked up the stage, showed his certificate and told the audience that he had been to SoulKids last weekend and that what he had learned was how to really enjoy his life!

A few children reacted very negatively.... but Daan just stood there ,putting into practice his new learnt skill how to deal with negativity: hear it but do not accept it.
